From an email to the owner of the desk:

“Things are progressing nicely.  Everything is a bit torn apart right now as we make the pieces that were missing and stabilize the frame of the desk.  Internally, we found that several of the dowels that connect the upper section of the desk to the leg sections were broken, so we replaced them.  They are invisible when the desk is assembled but you can see them in one of the pictures of the disassembled desk. 

We still have four short pieces of molding to make before we do the final reassembly.  Then it is on to dealing with the finish.  I have just begun doing some experimentation on the finishing issues.  I expect that the desk will be completely back together by the end of next week or shortly thereafter, then the fun begins. “
